IREN Adds Oracle, Google Veterans to AI Cloud Leadership Team

IREN has appointed Kambiz Aghili as chief product officer and Michael Nudelman as chief development officer, adding two senior executives with cloud and data center development experience as the company expands its AI cloud business.
The Nasdaq-listed bitcoin miner and AI infrastructure company said Thursday that both appointments will be based in San Francisco. The hires come as IREN builds out its vertically integrated AI cloud platform, spanning data centers, compute infrastructure and software services.
Aghili will oversee product strategy and the roadmap for IREN’s AI cloud platform, including its bare-metal GPU offering, managed services and broader product capabilities. He joins from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, where he was vice president of products and led strategy and development for Oracle’s native multi-cloud platform across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
Nudelman will lead IREN’s global data center development strategy, including expansion of the company’s 5-gigawatt secured grid-connected power portfolio across existing and new markets. His role will cover site planning, permitting and economic development incentives. He previously held senior roles at Google, CyrusOne and Beale Infrastructure, bringing more than two decades of experience across data center development, energy, finance and management.
The appointments underscore IREN’s effort to deepen its management bench as it shifts more attention toward AI infrastructure, where public bitcoin miners have been racing to convert access to power, land and data center capacity into cloud and high-performance computing revenue.
IREN said the two hires strengthen the three layers of its AI cloud platform: data centers, including power, land, substations, buildings and cooling; compute, including chips, storage, servers and networking; and software, including managed services and enterprise support.
“IREN’s growth comes down to securing large-scale land and power in the right markets and building the full AI stack on top of it,” Daniel Roberts, co-founder and co-chief executive officer of IREN, said in the statement.
The company has increasingly positioned itself as an AI infrastructure provider in addition to its bitcoin mining operations, with its AI cloud offering centered on GPU capacity and related enterprise services. The appointment of Aghili adds product leadership from a major cloud provider, while Nudelman’s hiring brings hyperscale data center development experience as IREN seeks to scale its power-backed infrastructure portfolio.
